Welcome to Healing Strides of VA
Mission Statement
To promote wellness for people with personal challenges
who can benefit from equine assisted activities
in a safe
and supportive environment.
Healing Strides of VA is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that was originally established in 1991 as The Roanoke Valley Therapeutic Riding Program. Through the years the organization had many temporary homes and many faces. Today, Healing Strides of VA has a permanent home on the county lines of Roanoke and Franklin Counties. The property was purchased in 2001 and eventually built a covered arena. We are currently in the process of completing our permanent headquarters in a 1920 SF building adjoining the covered arena.
Healing Strides of VA is situated on 22 acres bordering Magadee Creek- just North of Boones Mill, 10 minutes South of Roanoke- Tanglewood Mall area. Healing Strides of VA operates 9 months out of the year and have office hours year round by appointment December-February. Come see us!
